That is a very, very bad combination and we need to look at how to get it under control quickly...or soon we'll be having this discussion in the hospital instead of my office."
For me, that was a wake up call... either I do something now, or I end up with consequences that I'd rather avoid...
We are living in
challenging, stressful,
times.
My doctor was right... everything seemed to be crashing down around me and I can't remember a time when I was more anxious, stressed, depressed or, as a result of all of those things, unhealthy.

These depression-related stress statistics will give you some idea of how serious the problem of depression, one of the side-effects of long term, unmanaged stress... really is:
- An estimated 121 million people world-wide currently suffer from depression. (World Health Organization)
- 8 to 20 percent of older adults experience symptoms of depression. (Surgeon General's Report on Mental Health 1999)
- Depression often co-occurs with anxiety disorders and substance abuse. (National Institutes of Mental Health)

In fact, it's one of the most simple, basic, and yet powerful keys for you to understand before you can completely eliminate stress from your life.
No one else can do this for you.

This is so important...
"Recognize, right now, in this moment, how you are thinking and feeling... because once you discover how to recognize the way you are looking at things -- you will be able to immediately adjust... and that's where the magic begins."
Below, I'm going to show you some very helpful things you can do to immediately help you reduce your stress - and the first key to quickly getting results -- is being aware, recognizing how you are reacting to the events in your life.
Men
aren't supposed to show
their feelings
and women are supposed to be strong, right?
Sometimes it's very difficult to step back and actually see yourself or recognize that you're not doing well... until it's too late and you get sick, or lose your temper or call in sick to work because you're too depressed to get out of bed... or you might start crying for no reason at all...
... there are many signals -- but you have to know how to see them and what to do about them when you do.
But,
aren't we adults? Aren't we
expected to "Just deal with it...?"
Sure, and after years of study and research, I now believe that is part of the problem.
"As the times we live in get harder and more responsibility and pressure is heaped upon us... As life gets more complicated, not simpler... we are still expected to hold it all inside, accept the extraburden, and deal with it... how?!"
So what happens?
- You develop poor eating habits and routines...
- maybe you smoke or drink to deal with all of the pressure...
- you don't have time to take care of your body...
- you never seem to have time to really relax...
- both, you and your relationships are constantly under pressure...
- Financially, Emotionally, Physically and Spiritually you are losing ground...
- quality sleep is more and more difficult to achieve... etc.

Sometimes, Life
Is
Like... Boiling Frogs?
Have you ever heard the story about "boiling frogs?"
Here is a very brief explanation of this urban myth for you - which I'm sharing here because, to me, this is similar to how life can be for you if you are experiencing great stress...
Here's how the illustration goes...
Apparently, if you place a live frog in a large pot of cold water and then put the pot on the stove, over a medium flame, the frog's body temperature rises with the temperature of the water (he's cold blooded)... and before he knows it -- he's frog soup!
And... according to the tellers of this tale, he didn't feel a thing!
Now, I don't know if the illustration is accurate and frankly, I'm not going out to catch a frog and find out myself.
Isn't that similar to what is happening to
you
going through life stressed
and overwhelmed?
The temperature is definitely getting turned up under you...
- the economy is facing very challenging times
- jobs are disappearing
- families are stressed to their limits
- your health is becoming harder to maintain
- Technology is moving ahead so rapidly that you just can't seem to keep up with it (I don't even know how to text a message on my mobile phone yet!)
- money isn't going as far as it once did... and there seems to be less of it
- Time just flies by... there just doesn't seem to be enoughtime to get things done you want to do!
All around you, the walls seem to be closing in and the pressure is building...
... the temperature is rising, and you try not to notice so you can function, so you can get through your days -- you ignore the water boiling around you (remember that frog?) -- and before you know it, you've gained 60lbs., your hair is grayingand falling out, your always out of breath, can't sleep, aren't interested in sex, and you know what?
You've just
become...
"You Soup!"
-- like that frog!
But there is hope...
In fact, what I'm going to share with you is so simple, natural and easy that you'll wonder why you haven't been told about these things before.
The important thing is that you are here today and that you found this letter.
Let me share a couple of very effective methods you can use immediately to help you if you are stressed-out or anxious.
Without going into all of the detail covered inside of my guide, "Stress Free Fast... Secretsfor a Stress-Free Life" here are a few proven methods you can use immediately to help you control stress.
First, understand this simple fact -
"Stress is not what happens to you... stress is not caused by the events in your life that are hard, painful, challenging or difficult... stress is the result of how you react, think and feel about... those things."
Let me add to that... this is why some people are stressed and some people are not stressed -- even when they both experience the same exact events.
It's how each person thinks about what she experiences that matters.
One person "Let's it get to them..." the other, "doesn't dwell on it and moves on..." The former is stressed, the later is not.
Do you let things get to you?
Can you recognize when
you are getting stressed-out?
Yes... once you know how.
My Mother had a jar in our kitchen when I was a little boy, she called it "the cursing jar"...
Every time my Dad would say a bad word, my mother made him put a quarter in that jar. We all had fun trying to catch him cursing and when we did - it usually added a few extra quarters to the jar!
We got to buy candy with that money on Saturdays - so, we kept a close ear on Dad - Mom, my sister and I.
What if you created a "Negative Thoughts" Jar for yourself?
If stress comes from how you think or feel about outside events... what if you could immediately recognize your thoughts and feelings... your reactions to those events and adjust them quickly?
Let me just say that this method of my Moms worked to help my Dad reduce his cursing -- it can also help you reduce your stress... it's easy, free, and you can get your children involved if you like... or your partner and even your friends!
"The
Negativity Jar"
"Every time you start to think, talk, or feel anything negative like; anger, hurt, frustration, sadness, impatience, cursing, complaining, talking or thinking about negative topics, talking or thinking negatively about others or yourself, saying or thinking negative things about people (including YOU!), work, events, etc...
... you have to put a dollar in your "Negativity Jar."
This Works...
Because once you can recognize immediately that you are having these emotions, thoughts and feelings, you can quickly adjust them - change them - reframe those negative thoughts and correct the way you are looking at things so you can calm down and prevent a "Stress Mess."
Not too mention that after the first $20.00 you start to really think twice about holding a negative thought or getting angry... and if you are "thinking twice" you are already well on your way to less stress - so, set up your jar and start thinking happy, better, positive, thoughts now.
One more thing about this method...
When you recognize those negative thoughts... think of a good time in your life - or your favorite song or imagine the last time you're child made you really laugh.
Replace those negative thoughts immediately with a good memory of a happy day or event in your life and then... smile.
Just force a smile if you have to, but smile.
Please do this if you find yourself thinking negatively... soon, you'll be automatically switching negative into positive and you will feel so much better and much less stressed.
The second method I'd like to share with you from my guide, "Stress Free Fast... Secrets of a Stress Free Life" is even simpler than the first.
"The
Rubber Band Remedy"
I know it's a funny name, don't laugh! This absolutely works to reduce stress... here's what you do:
Put a rubber band (or better yet, so the little kids will all think you are funny, a Silly-Band™) around your wrist. Not a tight one, but a loose rubber band, large enough to fit a finger under it loosely so it doesn't cut off your circulation.
Now... here is the way your rubber band bracelet works.
Similar to the "Negativity Jar" - every time you think or feel a negative thought coming on... reach down and pull that rubber band back... further... further... now - "SNAP!!"
OUCH!!
...And, guess what else?
You've disrupted your negative thought!
So, take advantage of your lapse and immediately replace the negative thought with a positive one... one of those memories or songs we talked about earlier.
Do this for a week or two, and what you will find is - you'll be having positive thoughts without even beginning to think a negative one first!
Fewer negative
thoughts...
Less stress and anxiety.
You'll also start sleeping much better.
It's amazing how such little things can make such a big difference.
Are either of those two methods earth shattering? No. Do they shock the scientific community? I doubt it.
What I do know however, is that they work. Just like all of the techniques and methods I share with you inside of my guide, "Stress Free Fast... Secrets of a Stress Free Life."
And, if you can reduce or eliminate negative thoughts and feelings before they even happen, you'll reduce stress and think more clearly about solutions, instead of raising your blood pressure because you're focused on the problems all of the time.
I think this method alone might have saved my life. Stress is my enemy... with my illness I cannot afford to let stress build up, the side effects could be devastating. You certainly don't need an illness to want to avoid the side-effects of unmanaged stress - a heart attack is the same for you and me!
So, I know this will work for you too, if you'll give it a chance.

Proven Breathing Techniques
These proven techniques below are ideal for relieving stress, pressure and anxiety, because they can be performed anywhere, by anybody and at anytime.
A correct breathing exercise can reduce your tension and nervousness and it also reduces your fatigue during the day... you have more energy and are much less tired and lethargic feeling.
Four easy breathing techniques you can use to reduce stress:
Technique #1: Lying down in a comfortable position, with your spine straight, slowly inhale through your nose, counting to 6 in your head. Let the air out through your mouth, counting to 8 in your head as it leaves your lungs. Repeat several times and that’s it! You feel MUCH more relaxed and calmed.
Technique #2: Again, lying in a comfortable position, with your spine straight -- breathe in through your nose until your lungs are full of air. This time, hold your breath for a few seconds, don't force yourself too much but feel the positive effects of the oxygen filling every cell in your body.
Next, breathe out through your mouth, and as you exhale slowly, you feel all the tension and pressure starting to disappear from your body.
Technique #3: This is also called the Abdominal Breathing technique. First, relax and make yourself comfortable. Next, place one hand on your stomach and your other hand resting on your upper chest. Breathe in slowly and deeply and allow your abdomen and stomach to expand like a balloon. Let your abdomen fall down as you breathe out. To get the best results with this technique, you should consider doing it for 5 to 10 minutes every day.(It has been proven that respiration through the abdomen, has a calming and relaxing effect, and it is also very healthy).
Technique #4: In this technique all the breathing is done only through your nose. Place yourself somewhere comfortable, with your spine straight and then inhale through your nose (roughly 5 seconds). Then, exhale through your nose. It doesn't get more simple, but the results are almost immediate and you'll feel so much calmer and more relaxed in just a few minutes of doing this.
